Co-supervised a visiting PhD student, Qian Chen, at EECS of York University and the University of Ottawa, working on deep learning models for natural language processing.

2014 Gave a tutorial at EMNLP-2014 (on "Sentiment Analysis of Social Media Texts") with Saif Mohammad.

Supervised a PhD student, Parinaz Sobhani (EECS, University of Ottawa), working on deep learning models for natural language processing, when Parinaz worked as a research intern in NRC from December, 2014 to September, 2015.
*The supervision yielded three papers published in ICML, NAACL, and SEM respectively.
Co-supervised Yong Jin (PhD student, Department of Computer Science, University of New Brunswick) working on deep learning models for natural language processing, when Yong worked as a research intern in NRC from June to October, 2015.
*We published a paper in COLING.

1998-1999 For two semesters, I taught the course “Introduction to Programming” at a private college, China Management Software Institute; there were approximately 50 students in each semester.
